Open Forum <br /> Michael Czech, 3816 Wildlife Trail, Pequot Lakes, addressed the Council. <br /> Mr. Czech requested clarification of ordinance amendment Section 17-7.5, <br /> 2.D.(1) on the definition of a rear lot for a lake lot. Mayor Adams noted <br /> that this inquiry would be addressed during agenda item 6.3. <br /> 5. Presentations <br /> 5.1 Classification & Compensation Studv � <br /> David Drown from David Drown Associates provided a presentation on the <br /> proposed benchmark communities and jobs for#he City's classification , <br /> and compensation study. Mr. Drown noted this project will consist of an <br /> initial project meeting, kickoff meeting, market anaiysis, project team <br /> recommendation, final report to Council and job classification appeal, and � <br /> ongoing maintenance. The study process will entail reviewing and scoring <br /> jobs, comparing information with neighboring communities on <br /> compensation and benefits, and analyzing State requirements for <br /> comparable worth. The job evaluation tool includes factors relating to <br /> qualifications, decision making; problem solving, relationships, effort, and � <br /> conditions/hazards. Mr. Drown explained that Council consideration is <br /> needed to determine the benchmark communities and jobs that should be ; <br /> utilized for this study. His recommendation is to benchmark all of the jobs <br /> within the City as the number of jobs are relatively small. <br /> � <br /> Gouncil Member Pederson questioned how the disparity of local I <br /> govemmen#aid, levy, and tax capacity among the benchmark i <br /> communities can provide an apples to apples outcome for the study. Mr. � <br /> Drown noted the importance of having a relatively large data set so we � <br /> don't get bogged down on the details and a comparison group of <br /> communities simila�in size and services are what needs to be considered. � <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO APPROVE THE I <br /> BENCHMARK COMMUNITIES AS PRESENTED AND TO UTILIZE ALL <br /> CITY JOBS FOR BENCHMARKING.
