April24,20�8 WIDSETH <br /> � � SMITH <br /> NOLTING <br /> Brainerd�Baxter <br /> 7804 Induatrisl Park Road <br /> Honoiable Mayar and Council Members P0 B°"�J20 <br /> Bexter,MN 6847b2720 <br /> City of Pequot Lakes <br /> 4fi38 AAain Street �&�s.5��o <br /> Pequat Lakes, MN 56472 "�92�' � <br /> BrelnertlC�vsn.us.00m � <br /> YllUsstn5mlt6dottin�.00m <br /> RE: Propagal for Study of U#ilitles and Roadway Extensions <br /> South of Derksen Rosd Between PaulBunyan Trell and 41ane Hwy 371 <br /> Pequot Lakes,MN <br /> Honorable Mayor and Council Members: <br /> As requestetl,WSN is pleased to present our proposal to study the extenslon of sanitary sewer, <br /> watermain, storm drainage,and roadways south of Derksen Road associated with a oonceptual <br /> Layout 3 of the Pequot Lakes Business Park being wor�ced on by the Cit�s Economic <br /> Developmerrt Commissian(EDC). <br /> We are proposing to perfortn the following tasks: <br /> • Use Crow Wing County GIS contoured mapping,or other publicly available mapping�to <br /> prepare a base map(i.e. no topagraphic flled survey. <br /> • OverlayUg Layout 3 onto this base map. <br /> • Extend gravity sanitary se+wer as far south as passible from ths existi� manhole at De�lcsen <br /> Road and Morehouse Drive. <br /> • After extending the sanitary sewer as far south as possible by gravity, review the parcels <br /> remaining and the general feasibility of elther individual grinder pumps at each parcel or <br /> whether a new Ciiy lift station would be approprlate(using best engineering judgement and <br /> not performing an overell IiR station siting study for this part of the Cit�r). <br /> • Extend watermain south. <br /> � Identifying natural low areas and thelr corresponding tr�butary areas to set aside space for <br /> suitable iriflltration basins—or, in conJunctlon with the next step,camb(ning them into as few <br /> basins as passible. <br /> • Preliminarily laying out a stortn drainage system discharging into the above ir�filtra�on <br /> basin(s). <br /> � Extend new roadways south, looking at both curb and guttered roadways and ditch-lined <br /> raadways. <br /> • Estimate quariiities for ths above Improvements. <br /> • Develop preliminary°per unit IeveP cost estimates for the above improvements,also <br /> including estlmated non-construction project costs. <br /> • With input irom Staff and the EDC,distribute these casts amongst the par�cels. <br /> • Prepare a Study document contalning the above infarmation. <br /> Besides overall budgeting, one use for this Study will be to include the informatton tn marketing <br /> materials.
