EDC Recommendation—Schematic Lavout Mark Jurchen explained the Economic Development Commission reviewed three schematic layout options and are unanimously recommending approval of schematic layout#3 for the development of the 80+ acres south of the Pequot Lakes Business Park. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO APPROVE SCHEMATIC LAYOUT#3 AS PRESENTED FOR THE 80+ACRES SOUTH OF THE PEQUOT LAKES BUSINESS PARK. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-1. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. Nancy Malecha gave an update from the Pequot Lakes School Board meeting stating the School District is interested in continuing discussions with the City on the long term vision of a sports facility with a possible agreement and/or partnership with the City. The School Board voiced their concems about water and sewer infrastructure and the associated costs that would possibly be incurred for the District. It was suggested to reach out to other communities that have similar facilities to gather feedback from them about their experiences through the process. Council consensus was to continue having these discussions with the Pequot Lakes School District. 10.2 2019 Preliminarv Budaet Discussion Nancy Malecha explained the 2019 Preliminary Budget discussions will begin in May and she is requesting Council direction for compiling budgets. Ms. Malecha presented the City's current Work Plan and Capital Improvement Plan as well as a five year history of preliminary and final levies and tax rates. Council discussion ensued and consensus of the Council agreed to direct Staff aim for no increase in the City's tax rate. 10.3 Librarv Vision Machine
