City Council Minutes <br /> April 3, 2018 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> Council discussion ensued and the consensus was to direct the Planning <br /> Commission to look into it further and bring a recommendation back to the <br /> Council. <br /> 6.3.B Robert Swenson Public Nuisance Abatement <br /> Dawn Bittner stated the property at 31051 Pine Street was declared a <br /> public nuisance in 2017 and although the existing buildings are not <br /> hazardous, they are poorly maintained and are a blight to the community. <br /> Ms. Bittner added the City Attorney and Staff are recommending to amend <br /> the City Code to include an exterior maintenance ordinance. <br /> Council discussion ensued and consensus was to have the Planning <br /> Commission look into this matter further and bring a recommendation <br /> back to the Council. <br /> 6.4. Tax Forfeit Parcel <br /> Dawn Bittner explained Crow Wing County is proposing to reclassify <br /> Parcel #291000010150009 and offer it for sale and the Planning <br /> Commission is unanimously recommending the subject property not be <br /> reclassified "Non-Conservation° until the adjacent parcel to the north, <br /> Parcel #291000010140009, becomes tax forfeited next year so they can <br /> be offered together for sale. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LAKOUTA MOVED TO NOT ALLOW PARCEL <br /> #29100001015009 BE RECLASSIFIED "NON-CONSERVATION" UNTIL <br /> THE ADJACENT PARCEL#291000010140009 BECOMES TAX <br /> FORFEITED AND BOTH PARCELS CAN BE OFFERED TOGETHER <br /> FOR SALE. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. <br /> Mayor Adams requested the property be monitored so it does not become <br /> a detriment to the neighborhood. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 6.5 Siqns <br /> Chris Monroe, PL Chamber Director addressed the Council. Ms. Monroe <br /> stated she has had conversations with many business owners who agree <br /> that it is important to address signage along Highway 371 as quickly as <br /> possible to let travelers know that there is a community here and we are <br /> open for business. <br />
