09 <br />City Council Minutes <br />May 4, 2010 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />Council Member Ryan suggested that the sidewalks could be patched and <br />that the entire project not be done at this time. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />SIDEWALK PROJECT INCLUDING THE NECESSARY LANDSCAPING <br />AND TO ACCEPT THE QUOTE FROM BILL RICKARD. MAYOR <br />ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Sjoblad indicated that this would eliminate the issue of <br />ice falling off of the roof onto the sidewalk directly above where people <br />walk. Mayor Adams stated that it would also eliminate the area on the <br />sidewalk that floods and freezes. <br />MOTION CARRIED 2 -1 COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN OPPOSED. <br />10. City Engineer <br />10.1. West Lake Street Update <br />Tim Houle provided an update on the West Lake Street project. He stated <br />�-- that since the last Council meeting the two property owners have agreed <br />to permanent easements at no cost to the City. He has met with MnDOT <br />to inform them that they will be doing work in the right -of -way. He noted <br />that he has been working with the Gloria Dei Church trustees regarding <br />the concept of a drainage easement in the corner of their property. Tim <br />noted that the trustees have agreed to the concept with some conditions <br />which he felt were reasonable. <br />Tim Houle requested authorization to have the City Attorney prepare an <br />easement. It was the consensus of the Council to have the City Attorney <br />prepare the easement. <br />11. City Clerk's Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />11.1. Liquor Application for Temporary Expansion of Premise Permit <br />The Clerk noted that the American Legion Post has made application for a <br />temporary expansion of premise permit for three separate events. The <br />license will allow the sale of alcohol outside of the building in a roped off <br />area adjacent to the building. <br />
