MONTHLY STAFF REPORT <br />City Clerk's Office <br />March, 2010 <br />Meetings <br />City Council Meetings <br />March 2. 2010, Council Actions <br />• Added Poplar Township to the Pequot Lakes Fire Service District <br />• Authorized grant application for Fire Department radios <br />• Authorized staff to renovate a portion of the old library for a fitness room <br />• Approved tobacco and 3.2% off sale malt liquor license for SuperValu <br />• Approved tobacco license for Tammy Johnson <br />• Called special Council meetings on March 29 and 30 for Hwy 371 EIS public <br />hearings <br />• Requested speed study from MnDOT on Hwy 371 near new SuperValu <br />development requesting speed to be lowered <br />• Approved a wine, beer, and 3.2% malt liquor on sale licenses for the Tiki Room <br />`-- Meetings <br />Park Commission <br />March 11th Meeting .... (Minutes are attached) The Park Board is working on the <br />following projects: <br />• Gazebo in Trailside Park — The Lion's have committed to either renovating or <br />building a new gazebo in the park. The gazebo will be used for the bands in the <br />park program. <br />• Playground Equipment for Trailside Park — The Park Commission is in the <br />process of forming a committee to study this idea. <br />• Playground Equipment for Gildner Park — The Park Commission is in the process <br />of deciding on the type of playground equipment to be used for this park. <br />• Chokecherry Trees — The Park Commission will be selling Chokecherry Trees <br />with the hope of raising some money to be used for the playground equipment at <br />Trailside Park. <br />Economic Development Commission <br />March 16th Meeting .... (Minutes are attached) The EDC has formally moved to set the <br />SWOT analysis aside indefinitely with the idea that the Commission will work with the <br />Planning Commission on the economic development portion of the comp plan. <br />HRA Minutes <br />
