MONTHLY STAFF REPORT City Clerk's Office March, 2010 Meetings City Council Meetings March 2. 2010, Council Actions • Added Poplar Township to the Pequot Lakes Fire Service District • Authorized grant application for Fire Department radios • Authorized staff to renovate a portion of the old library for a fitness room • Approved tobacco and 3.2% off sale malt liquor license for SuperValu • Approved tobacco license for Tammy Johnson • Called special Council meetings on March 29 and 30 for Hwy 371 EIS public hearings • Requested speed study from MnDOT on Hwy 371 near new SuperValu development requesting speed to be lowered • Approved a wine, beer, and 3.2% malt liquor on sale licenses for the Tiki Room `-- Meetings Park Commission March 11th Meeting .... (Minutes are attached) The Park Board is working on the following projects: • Gazebo in Trailside Park — The Lion's have committed to either renovating or building a new gazebo in the park. The gazebo will be used for the bands in the park program. • Playground Equipment for Trailside Park — The Park Commission is in the process of forming a committee to study this idea. • Playground Equipment for Gildner Park — The Park Commission is in the process of deciding on the type of playground equipment to be used for this park. • Chokecherry Trees — The Park Commission will be selling Chokecherry Trees with the hope of raising some money to be used for the playground equipment at Trailside Park. Economic Development Commission March 16th Meeting .... (Minutes are attached) The EDC has formally moved to set the SWOT analysis aside indefinitely with the idea that the Commission will work with the Planning Commission on the economic development portion of the comp plan. HRA Minutes
