City Council Minutes <br /> March 6, 2018 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> Tim Houle provided the following update. <br /> • Bond and insurance information from Boser Construction is <br /> pending. <br /> • A pre-construction meeting has been scheduled for March 21�• <br /> • When road restrictions are removed, sometime befinreen March and <br /> May, shop drawings, ordering of materials, and preparation will <br /> occur. <br /> • Per the contract, project completion is no later than the end of <br /> September. <br /> Greystone Construction inquired about land use permit fees and <br /> performance and payment bonds. The City has waived the land use <br /> permit fees; however, Greystone's original quote did not include the cost <br /> of performance and payment bonds. Mr. Houle requested the Council <br /> approve an increase of up to $1,000 in Greystone Construction's quote to <br /> account for this added cost. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE AN INCREASE OF UP TO <br /> $1,000 IN GREYSTONE CONSTRUCTION'S QUOTE FOR THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF THE SALT STORAGE SHED TO ACCOUNT FOR <br /> THE PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Council Member Pederson proposed an altemate plan for the <br /> Maintenance Facility Project location and requested further discussion. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO COMPLETE A <br /> LOCATION STUDY FOR THE MAINTENANCE FACILITY CITING PROS <br /> AND CONS OF ALL CITY OWNED PROPERTY. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding water and sewer services, property <br /> tax valuations, and the need of a sprinkler system. <br /> Nancy Malecha noted that Staff compiled a map of all City owned property <br /> and discussed the pros and cons of these properties with the City Council <br /> at prior meetings. <br /> Tim Houle explained that per State Code, the City is required to have a <br /> fire sprinkler system for the Maintenance Facility. Without the availability <br /> of City water and sewer services, the cost of equipment to run a sprinkler <br /> system, in the event of a power outage, would be extensive. <br />
