Melissa Birch provided written comments regarding general policies on Complete <br /> Streets and proposed that Complete Streets be made the approach that is the framework <br /> that is used for the Transportation section of the Comprehensive Plan. She provided <br /> text on page 2 to include. <br /> INFRASTRUCTURE SECTION: <br /> BACKGROUND — <br /> The reference to capacity and Trailside Park amenities may not be accurate. The City is <br /> looldng at usage with the Splash Park;there should also be consideration of the <br /> Business Park expansion. <br /> Planning Commission Member Leckband pointed out the third paragraph refers to <br /> Highway 37i which is actually Patriot Avenue now. This should be corrected. <br /> Mr. Houle pointed out the ponds are currently at approximately half of their capacity <br /> and that the statement regarding contamination should be removed as it is no longer <br /> accurate. <br /> Mr. Jurchen stated the submitted comments regarding internet need to be included as <br /> both policies and goals. The Planning Commission concurred. <br /> The last paragraph before Policies needs to be revised. <br /> ACTIONS <br /> Chair Hailan inquired what the availability charge Action item referred to. Staff stated it <br /> referred to vacant lots in the Downtown Muced Use zone with water and wastewater <br /> available. Mr. Houle stated a previous Council thought this might entice a property <br /> owner to develop their parcel. Mr. Burslie stated since it is a short-term Action item, <br /> this should be brought to the City Council. <br /> INTEGRATED GROWTH PLAN— <br /> Chair Hallan stated with Trunk Highway g�i established,the City decided there would <br /> be no sewer or water extensions east of the highway to not encourage growth along the <br /> Highway 37i corridor. Growth was to remain within the current areas served by <br /> municipal water and wastewater. <br /> Mr. Burslie stated this will need to be reviewed at an upcoming meeting, also the <br /> redevelopment south of Derksen Road.
