MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING COMMISSION/ <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> MARCH i5, 2018 <br /> PRESENT:Andrew Birch, Mark Hallan, Douglas Leckband, Mark Mortenson, Nathan <br /> Norton, Brian Wallin and Wesley Wilson. ABSENT: None. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Justin Burslie, NJPA <br /> ZOrTING SPECIALIST: Dawn Bittner <br /> COUNCIL LIAISON: Jerry Akerson <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Ha11an at 6:0o p.m. <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PI.AN UPDATE: I <br /> Mr. Burslie explained th�City Council has directed the Planning Commission to update i <br /> the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission will review 2 or 3 sections of the <br /> existing Plan each month with the goal to hold the Public Hearing toward the end of the ' <br /> year. We have invited various community members and committee members to provide I� <br /> input. We have received written comments from the Economic Development �, <br /> Commission and the Economy Task Force,as well as the City Administrator. Chair i <br /> Hallan stated he would first take specific comments from the Planning Commission �i <br /> Members and then take comments by section. 'I <br /> TRANSPORTATION SECTION: ' <br /> Planning Commission Member Birch stated he would like to see Complete Streets <br /> adopted as part of the Transportation plan. <br /> Planning Commission Member Leckband stated the terms `urban' and`rural'are used <br /> throughout the Comprehensive Plan and felt they should be defined. <br /> Mr. Burslie explained a Comprehensive Plan is a long range visioning document for the <br /> City. A Comprehensive Plan is different than the Zoning Ordinance. It is not the letter <br /> of the law but more of a policy document so there will not be definitions included.
