Vacation for a Portion of Front Street — Public Hearing
The City Clerk noted that the City Council previously passed a resolution
stating its interest in vacating a portion of Front Street. She also noted that
notice has been published and mailed to affected property owners.
The Clerk stated that the Council has previously determined that the
vacation of this street will benefit the public interest because Front Street
no longer provides a connection to State Highway 371. Another reason for
the vacation is that the majority of the section of roadway proposed to be
vacated abuts property in common ownership. The Clerk stated that the
vacation will save the City money in terms of ongoing road maintenance
and improvements.
Mayor Adams opened the public hearing.
