Clerk's February 2009 Staff Report Page 2 of 3 • Authorized a letter of support to MnDOT for the closure of the access at First Street and CSAH 11 • Adopted Ordinance Amending Chapter 17 relating to pre- existing lots of records and other minor ordinance amendments • Adopted ordinance amendment to Chapter 17 relating to parking requirements • Transferred wages and benefits from the general fund to the water and sewer funds • Forgave sewer charges for Earl Hemmerich • Approved a service contract with Kitchigami Regional Library system • Appointed Laura Hofius to the HRA • Directed staff to form a health insurance committee to research other insurance plans Meetings Park Commission The Park Commission met on January 14th and February 11th. The commission heard a presentation from Chuck Marohn on the Comp Plan. The Park Commission gave some input on park and recreation needs for the City. The Bands in the Park program continues to expand. This year bands have been scheduled for almost every week throughout the summer. See the attached flyer. Other projects the Commission will be working on this summer • Enlarging or rebuilding the gazebo at Trailside Park to allow it to be used as a band shelter • Completion of Gildner Park with playground equipment • Consideration of playground equipment at Trailside Park Economic Development Commission January 19th Meeting.... • The EDC discussed the possibility of establishing a business loan program • Reviewed the SWOT Process • Received an update on the economic development section of the comp plan February 16th Meeting ... (No quorum — no formal action taken) • Heard a presentation from Matt Rowe of True Protection Security (Now known as Vovi) • Update and consensus of the SWOT process. The EDC will make a formal recommendation at its March meeting. At this point the EDC is recommending to not to do a SWOT but to coordinate efforts with the Planning Commission while working on the economic development section of the comp plan.
