MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3 -0. <br />7. Fire Chief Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />7.1. Poplar Township Request for Fire Service <br />Fire Chief Nelson explained that Poplar Township has requested fire <br />service from the Pequot Lakes Fire Department. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO ADD POPLAR TOWNSHIP TO THE FIRE <br />SERVICE DISTRICT FOR THE PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 3 -0. <br />7.2. Regional Grant for Crow Wing County Fire Departments <br />Fire Chief Nelson explained that the Brainerd Fire Department is applying <br />for a regional grant for the Crow Wing County Fire Departments. He stated <br />that the purpose of the grant is to purchase the new 800 Mhz radios to <br />match the county's new radio system that they will be switching to in 2011- <br />2012. If received, the Fire Department would be responsible for a 20% <br />match of funds. <br />Asking for a letter from city indicating they are aware that they will be <br />obligated to pay 20% of the grant. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO SEND A LETTER TO THE <br />BRAINERD FIRE DEPARTMENT AUTHORIZING THE PEQUOT LAKES <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPROVE A 20% MATCH OF THE GRANT <br />
