MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 4. Open Forum <br /> Shannon Schmidt, 31068 Pine Street, addressed the Council. Mr. <br /> Schmidt explained that his family is interested in opening up an off sale <br /> liquvr/convenience store on their property located on Gravdahl Drive. <br /> Ms. Malecha explained the current City ordinance for an off sale liquor <br /> license stafies that no establishment can be located within 500 feet of a <br /> school or church. Mr. Schmidt asked for clarification of the 500 feet. Ms. <br /> Malecha explained that the distance is to be measured from the closest <br /> side of the school or church property to the closest side of the structure on <br /> the premises within which liquor will be sold. <br /> Council Member Akerson inquired if the ordinance can be changed or a <br /> variance can be made. Mayor Adams suggested the City not make a <br /> change since a business owner was denied an off sale license in the past <br /> due to this ordinance stipulation. <br />
