December 15, 2009 Minutes <br />Housing & Redevelopment Authority <br />Commissioners present: Peterson, Marchwick, Jurchen, Youngberg, Nagel. Also present: Director O'Brien, <br />Assistant Director Anderson, Mayor Adams, Tenants <br />PUBLIC HEARING /CAPITAL FUND PLAN /2009 <br />Chair Peterson called the Public Hearing to order at 5:OOpm. <br />No comments were received. <br />Chair Peterson closed the Public Hearing for the 2010 Capital Fund Plan and 5 -year Capital Fund Plan at <br />5:02pm <br />Chair Peterson called to order the regular meeting of the Housing Authority. <br />Consent Agenda approved. M/ Nagel, S/ Peterson. <br />West Grove <br />5.1Director O'Brien presented the 2010 budget for West Grove. There were no changes since it was <br />discussed in July. NI/Nagel S /Jurchen. All ayes motion carried. <br />Sibley Terrace <br />6.1 Director asked for approval of the 2010 CFP and the 5 year plan. There were no changes since the <br />October meeting, and no public comments were received. M/Nagel S /Jurchen. All ayes motion carried. <br />6.2 The Director informed the board that during the fire alarm test on November 13, staff noted that the <br />sirens in the hallway were not very loud in the tenants bedrooms. Concerns have been raised by tenants <br />about being able to hear the alarms if they were sleeping, and had their hearing aides out. Given the <br />prevalence of hearing issues in an elderly community such as ours, staff is recommending that we install a <br />strobe /siren inside each of the units that would be wired directly to our central alarm system. The Director <br />informed the board that there was $2267.22 that was not spent on the kitchen remodels, and the bid for the <br />installation of the strobes /sirens was $2250.00. The Director asked for approval to change the work plan for <br />the 2009 CFP, and to accept the bid from Birchdale for the installation of the strobes /sirens. M/Youngberg <br />S/Nagel. All ayes motion carried. <br />Parkview <br />No Business <br />Alpine <br />No Business <br />Executive Directors Report <br />The director recommended refunding unit 119 Sibley Terrace security deposit minus carpet cleaning, painting, <br />and cleaning charges. Total owed by the tenant after refund - $252.30. M/Marchwick S/Youngberg. All ayes <br />motion carried. <br />`Qaintenance Engineers Report <br />`-iJo Report. The director informed the board that Jon plans to attend a meeting in the next couple of months. <br />Other Business <br />
