Page 2 of 3 <br /> 4. Communitv Celebration <br /> The Committee discussed the idea of a community celebration in 2018 to highlight all the good <br /> work that has been accomplished by the TCI. Possible ideas include the following. <br /> • Celebration in the spring and collaborating with a Trailside Park Improvement Project <br /> Groundbreaking Ceremony. <br /> • Celebration at the picnic the night before Beanhole Days. <br /> • Celebration collaborating with various individuals recognized in the year for all of their <br /> distinguished efforts such as teacher of the year, business of the year,citizen of the <br /> year,volunteers of the year,etc. <br /> Michelle Kiley informed the Committee that the Initiative Foundation has funds available to <br /> support this type of celebration. <br /> 5. PL Communitv Action/Foundation Update <br /> Nancy Adams explained that Community Action of Pequot Lakes is not interested in <br /> transforming their current structure to serve as a community foundation. <br /> Nancy Malecha noted that there are five individuals interested in serving on the Pequot Lakes <br /> Community Foundation and Nancy Adams,Chris Lindholm,Chris Monroe,and Eric Klang or Chad <br /> Turcotte were also added to this list. Training for the Pequot Lakes Community Foundation <br /> Advisory Board will begin in January. <br /> 6. Initiative Foundation Innovation Funds Grant Update <br /> Nanty Malecha updated the Committee on the expenditures incurred thus far for the Initiative <br /> Foundation Innovation Funds Grant. To date,only$694 has been expended of the$5,000 grant. <br /> Committee discussion ensued as to possible uses for remaining funds and the looming deadline <br /> date of December 31,2017. TCI logo designs and a communications report/plan for community <br /> outreach were noted as good uses of remaining funds. Nancy Malecha will ask the Initiative <br /> Foundation for a grant deadline extension of February 28,2018. <br /> 7. Other Business <br /> Nancy Adams noted that she liked the statement"Small Town with Global Connectivity"from <br /> Mark Jurchen and would like to see this utilized if possible. <br /> 8. Set Date and Topics for Next Meetin� <br /> The next TCI Steering Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday,January 17th at 3:00 p.m. <br /> at Pequot Lakes City Hall. <br /> 9. Ad'iourn <br /> The meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m. <br />
