The water closet and <br /> shower or bathtub shall be located within a room that affords privacy to a person within <br /> said room. The hand lavatory shall be placed in the same room as the water closet, or <br /> if located in another room, shall be located in close proximity to the door leading <br /> directly into the room in which said water closet is located. Doors of bath or toilet <br /> rooms shared by persons other than members of a "family", as defined in this section, <br /> shall be provided with an approved locking device. <br /> 6. Shared Bath Dwelling Unit Plumbing Facilities Required: Every shared bath dwelling <br /> unit shall contain a kitchen sink in good working condition and properly connected to a <br /> water supply and sewage disposal system and shall have available to its occupants a <br /> water closet, a hand lavatory, and a bathtub or shower. The occupants of not more <br /> than two (2) shared bath dwelling units may share a single water closet, a single hand <br /> lavatory and a single bathtub or shower if: i <br /> a. The number of occupants sharing a water closet, hand lavatory and bathtub or � <br /> � <br /> shower does not exceed four (4) persons. i <br /> � <br /> b. Such water closet, hand lavatory, bathtub or shower shall be in good working ; <br /> condition and properly connected to a water and sewer system. <br /> c. The room or rooms within which the water closet, hand lavatory, and bath are I <br /> contained is located not more than one floor distant from the dwelling units whose i <br /> occupants share the use of such facilities. � <br /> 7. Basement Water Closet: A water closet may be located in a basement when required � <br /> for a legal dwelling unit or shared bath unit within such basemenf. A water closet may � <br /> be located in a basement when such water closet is supplementary to water closets � <br /> required by this section. A first floor dwelling unit should not have to go to the <br /> basement for its required water closet. <br /> 8. Hot And Cold Water: Ev � <br /> ery kitchen smk, hand lavatory, and bathtub or shower shall be i <br /> properly connected with both potable hot and cold running water and shall, with normal <br /> use, have an adequate supply of both hot and cold water. <br /> 9. Water Heating Facilities: Every dwelling shall have supplied water heating facilities <br /> properly installed and maintained in a safe and good working condition and properly <br /> connected with the hot water lines required under the provisions of subsection C8 of <br /> this section. An approved combination temperature and pressure valve and relief valve <br /> discharge pipe shall be properly installed and maintained on water heaters. The <br /> discharge pipe shall be full size and run to within eighteen inches (18") from the floor or <br /> a safe place for disposal. The hot water heating facilities required by this section shall <br /> be of a capacity and so maintained and operated as to permit, with normal use, an <br /> adequate supply of water to be drawn at any required kitchen sink, hand lavatory, <br /> bathtub or shower and to maintain the temperature of said water at not less than one <br /> hundred finrenty degrees Fahrenheit (120°F) at the fixture. <br /> 10.
