The third quarter�ire cafl report was discussed.There were 24 caUs. By types,there were 6 trees an poweeiine,5 aEarms gaing off,4 motor vehicie accidents,3 smoke scares,3 hazardous rreaterial lealcs,l grass fire,1 motor vehicie fiPe,and 1 outs6de fire.By location,there were 12 to Pequot Lakes,5 to the City a�f Breery Point,2 ta the City of.lenkins,2 to Loon Lake Township,i to Jenkins Township,�to Poptar Township,and 1 to Pelican Township.Twa bills were s�nt that totai $1900.00. Last year there were 23 calls during this ttme period. Training totaled 13 hours for fihe third quarter.By types there were 3 hours tr�ench rescue class room,3 hours trench rescue hands an,2 hours helicopter landing zone set-up&safety,2 hours operatror�of Ranger pump&skid unit,2 hours pump engine opera�ion,and 1 hour drivirt� departmer�t vehicles thru a�obstacle course. The third quar�er financial report toid us the Departrnent has sperrt about$113,000.00 for a $209,000.00 budget.�here are severai big ticket items that occur da�ring the fourth quarter that should get things back on target.Payroll wiil be approxi►natety$35,000.00.The ai�pack payment due is$31,OOO.QO.The new air compressor wi�h accessories and installation cpuld be close to $25,000.00.We carried over$75,OD0.00 fr�m our 2016 budget which also skews our numbers.By purchasing new aiF inasks this year,the Department saved$2500.00 due to not needing ce�t�fications.The air masks have a 15 year warranty.Sodd motioned to app�ove the report,second by lillehei,motion passed. Third quarter fire personnel and operation report followed.Tt�e DNR denied our 2017 matching f�nds grant appliption.Our washer/drye�grant from the 2014 AFG grarrt has finaliy been completed.The De�vartment is ie�process of oFdecing a new air cornpressor to fiil air battles.We are dealireg with a rtew vendor than ouf last compresso�purchase.All 3 of our engirtes passed the pu�p test for this year.Minor repairs were done to Engines 1&3 during the pump testin$procedure..We need new fire gbves that wiil be ordered soon.Pr�ces vary frorn$75.00 to$15tD.00 per pa�r.EMR refresher classes are being offered during Septernber and October to#hose who need them.We have ordered 12 new air mask batteries and 2 new 6 unit chargers to help with battery shor�age during incidents.Our new kitchen e�nge has been installed and is in operation.The Department is tookir►g into buming 2 houses in our fire district for trainirag.Tt�e Ciiy Council itas approved our pension fund increase to$42St?.00 per service year.We purchased 4 sets af trading qrds featuring our 2 main engBnes,tankers,and our Depar#ment's statistics of our contracted area.These cards will be used for fire preveritoon and promations. Tfie Department's 2017 AFG grant applocation is astcing for a new tanker truck with an estimated cast of$258,(�O.OQ.We received�e narrative por�ion from our grant writer and witl be compieting the application before the deadl6ne.'�'he reason for this is to replace our present Tanker 3.
