City Attorney Erica Heikel indicated the purpose for this meeting was to <br /> consider a resolution declaring the property owned by Carter McAninch <br /> located on County Road 168 to be a public nuisance. <br /> Nancy Malecha presented photographs of the Property that were taken on <br /> Monday, October 2, 2017 and explained their contents noting the City Code <br /> violations and nuisance conditions. <br /> Mayor Adams closed the public hearing. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the notices that have been sent and <br /> how long this property has been an issue. <br /> Council Member Akerson questioned why the Council did not receive <br /> notification about this issue until now. <br /> Nancy Malecha explained the City has sent several violation letters to this <br /> property owner which are included in the Planning Commission packets <br /> listed on the City's website. Ms. Malecha added City staff does not involve <br /> the Council until they are unsuccessful in working with the property owner. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 17-34 <br /> FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND ORDER OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY <br /> COUNCIL REGARDING ALLEGED CODE VIOLATIONS AND NUISANCE <br /> CONDITIONS AT A PROPERTY LOCATED ON COUNTY RD 168 WITH A <br /> COMPLIANCE DATE OF OCTOBER 13, 2017 AT 11:00 A.M. Ordinance Amendment Reaarding Fences <br /> Justin Burslie explained the ordinance amendment regarding fence and <br /> planting height restrictions.
