Citv of Pepuot Lakes Citv of Pequot Lakes Personnel Policies <br /> Title: Leaves Effective Date: [date adopted] <br /> Effective�ate(s)of Amendment(s): <br /> rehired after terminating City employment will not receive credit for their prior service <br /> unless specifically negotiated at the time of hire. � <br /> 10.2.3 Earnings and Use <br /> After six months of service,vacation leave may be used as it is earned,subject to approval <br /> by the employee's supervisor. <br /> An employee will not earn any vacation leave for any pay period unless he/she is <br /> employed by the City on the last scheduled work day of the pay period. <br /> Requests for vacation must be received at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the <br /> requested time ofF. This notice may be waived at the discretion of the supervisor and City <br /> Administrator. Vacation leave is to be used only by the employee who accumulated it. It <br /> cannot be transferred to another employee. <br /> Any employee whose primary duties and responsibilities include accounting for City <br /> finances is required to take a minimum of one consecutive week of vacation each calendar I <br /> year at the employee's discretion subject to approval by the employee's supervisor. �', <br /> Employees may carry over unused vacation year-to-year to a maximum combined 140 hours of i <br /> combined vacation and compensatory time. Any unused vacation not carried over shall be <br /> forFeited. No vacation will be allowed to accrue in excess of this amount without the ' <br /> approval of the City Council. Vacation leave cannot be converted into cash payments '� <br /> except at termination. <br /> � <br /> 10.3 Funeral Leave � <br /> Full-time employees,who have been employed with the City at least ninety(90) days,will be I <br /> permitted to use up to three (3) consecutive working days,with pay,as funeral leave upon the I <br /> death of an immediate family member defined as: spouse, child, sister, brother,father, i <br /> mother, or the death of a spouse's father or mother. Full-time employees,who have been , <br /> employed with the City at least ninety (90) days,will be permitted to use one (1)working day, ' <br /> with pay, as funeral leave upon the death of an employee's grandparent,grandchild, aunt, � <br /> uncle, brother-in-law or sister-in- law.
