Citv of Pequot Lakes Citv of Pequot Lakes Personnel Policies <br /> Title: Hours and Attendance Effective Date: [date adopted] <br /> Effective Date(s)of Amendment(s): <br /> SECTION 5 HOURS AND ATTENDANCE <br /> 5.1 Work Hours <br /> Employee work schedules and opportunities to work remotely will be established by supervisors <br /> with the approval of the City Administrator.The regular workweek for employees is five eight- <br /> hour days, Monday through Friday, except as otherwise approved by the City Administrator in <br /> accordance with the customs and needs of the individual departments. <br /> 5.2 Rest Periods <br /> A paid fifteen (15) minute paid break is allowed within each four(4) consecutive hours of work. <br /> Employees are expected to use these breaks as intended and will not be permitted to adjust <br /> work start time or end time by saving these breaks. <br /> Departments with unique job or coverage requirements may have additional rules, issued by the <br /> supervisor and subject to approval of the City Administrator, on the use of rest periods. <br /> 5.3 Adverse Weather Conditions <br /> City facilities will generally be open during adverse weather. Due to individual circumstances, <br /> each employee will have to evaluate the weather and road conditions in deciding to report to <br /> work(or leave early). Employees not reporting to work or leaving early for reasons of personal <br /> safety will not normally have their pay reduced as a result of this absence. Employees not <br /> reporting to work or leaving early for reasons of personal safety or if City facilities are closed by <br /> the Mayor will be allowed to use accrued vacation time, compensatory time, or personal leave <br /> equivalent to the difFerence between their scheduled hours of work and hours worked. <br /> Sworn police officers and public works maintenance employees will generally be required to <br /> report to work regardless of conditions. <br /> Decisions to cancel departmental programs (special events, recreation programs, etc.)will be <br /> made by the respective supervisor or the City Administrator. <br /> 10 <br />
