Seasonal <br /> employees do not earn benefits or credit for seniority. <br /> Temporarv Emplovee: Employees who work in temporary positions. Temporary jobs might <br /> have a defined start and end date or may be for the duration of a specific project.Temporary <br /> employees may be assigned to work a full-time or part-time schedule. Temporary employees <br /> do not earn benefits or credit for seniority. <br /> Trainin�Period:A six month period at the start of employment with the City(or at the <br /> beginning of a promotion, reassignment or transfer)that is designated as a period within which <br /> to learn the job. The training period is the last part of the selection process. <br /> Transfer: Movement of an employee from one City position to another of equivalent pay. <br /> Weapons: Weapons are defined to include all legal or illegal firearms,switchblade knives,or <br /> any other object that has been modified to serve as a weapon or that has the primary purpose <br /> of serving as a weapon. <br /> Workweek:A workweek is seven consecutive 24-hour periods. For most employees the <br /> workweek will run from Monday through the following Sunday. With the approval of the City <br /> Council, departments may establish a different workweek based on coverage and service <br /> delivery needs (e.g., police department,fire department,park and recreation department). <br /> 5 <br />
