PEQUOT LAKES AREA FIRE BOARD � MEEl1NG 61AINUTES JULY 26,2017 The quarteriy meeting of the PLAFB was called to order by Chairman Peterson.The minutes of the last meeting were not read. The second quarter fire cal�report totaled 21 calls.By types,there were 6 fire alarms,3 police/utility agency assist,2 EMS agency assist,Z�arbon monoxide alarms,2 structure fi�es,2 grass fires, l good intent,l mutuat aid structure,l mtatual aid grass,and 1 rr�otor vehicle fire. By location, there were 11 to Pequot Lakes,3 to Jenkins Township,2 to Jenkins City,2 to Pine River, l to Breery Point, 1 to Loo�Lake Township,and 1 to Moose Lake Township.Three biils uvere see�t that totat $1070.00. The training report fotated 15 hours.By types there�nrere 3 hours sprinkler and fire alarm systems,3 hours search&rescue with SCBA's,3 hours LP car and tank fires,3 hours Safety Kids fire safety,and 3 hours auto extrication. The second quarter financial report was discussed.Funds spent for the first half of the year totaled 44%of aur budget.The capital outlay fund was over budget due to the renovation of Engine 3 and the purchase of the pump/tank skid unit for ou�Ranger at the Breery Station.This unit was funded by donations&a grant from the DNR.Sodd motioned to approve the report,second by Lillehei, motion passed. Second quarter fire personnel and operations followed.Our fire department's annual$500.t30 scholarship was awarded to Tony Fitzer.Our Departrrtent provided a truck&personnel to the Breery Point aviation da�s celebration. Fire fighters helped with the 2017 Safety Kids program by providing tn.icks,safehouse,and fire fighters promoting fire safety.We hosted a group of children from Little People Day Care for a F�e Department tour on May 10"'.Our folding tables were loaned to the high schoot for the festival of the arts prograrn.We received and installed our new pump ar�d tank skid unit for the Polaris Ranger at the Breery Point Station.Engine 1 was returned to the factory to be renovated with slide out tool starage panels and drawers.The headliner i�the pump operatars compartmenfi was also repaired. New fire fighters,Dalton Enghofm&Josh Foote were welcomed to be members of the Department. Mathoweitz Construction has done a great job commur�icating with our Department regarding road closures and detours.We have had no incidents in the construction zones. Mathoweitz Construction decided to pull the pump, pipe from the constrvction well,and the electrical control service panei when fiheir construction project has been compieted.We were hoping they would donate the well and equipraient to our City.The well will be seafed when the highway construction project is compieted. No progress has taken place with the Explorers program since our last meeting.
