Mr. Sydow explained that the reason for the <br /> eight foot depth is due to the emergent aquatic vegetation level. He <br /> further noted that waiting to construct the pond would not be the best <br /> approach as it would be difficult to do so without disrupting the Phase 1 <br /> elements and it would be more costly. <br /> Mike Loven inquired about the hazards and safety of the pond in the <br /> middle of the Park during the spring thaw and fall freeze up when the ice <br /> on the pond is thin. Mr. Sydow suggested uti{izing thfn ice signs. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br /> TRAILSIDE PARK MASTER PLAN—PHASE 1 ELEMENTS. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON ABSTAINED. <br /> Mr. Sydow reviewed the cost estimates for the Trailside Park Master Plan <br /> - Phase 1 with the Council. He noted that more accurate costs will be <br /> determined as the project moves fon+vard. Mr. Sydow proposed a City <br /> review at the 3a°/a, 65%, and 95% design stages as this will allow the <br /> Council to make decisions whether to make changes or eliminate certain <br /> elements of the project. <br /> Mr. Sydow presented the project schedule to the Council which illustrates <br /> a timeline from August 2017 through November 2018 to keep the project <br /> moving forward. <br /> Council Member Akerson questioned if there were any estimates on how <br /> much water the pond would take on an ongoing basis.
