I'm attaching the minutes of our Tuesday meeting. <br />Minutes to meeting of <br />Pequot Lakes Community Library <br />Board of Directors <br />November 15, 2011 <br />Chairman John Longnecker called meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Board members present: John Longnecker, Jean Clark, Sam Hennies and Claire Nagel <br />Board members absent: David Anderson, Shirley Johnson and Lydia Loven <br />Also present: Jerry Akerson, liaison to City Council; and Kaye Schroeder <br />Sam Hennies moved to approve the minutes of the October meeting, seconded by <br />Jean Clark. <br />In the absence of Treasurer David Anderson, John Longnecker gave the <br />Treasurer's Report. The balance in the library checking account is $11,861.20, which <br />includes $1,000 designated for book purchases. The balance in the building fund <br />checking account is $9,003.52. A motion was made by Jean Clark to pay $3,000 to Tom <br />Adams on the balance the library owes him on his loan. Second was made by Claire <br />Nagel. Payment will be made from the Building Fund checking account. This will bring <br />the total balance due Mr. Adams to $6,000. The basket auction netted the library a total <br />of $8,833.59. The treasurer's report was accepted by all present. <br />President's report: John will be absent for the December and January meetings. <br />Claire Nagel will preside over those meetings. There will be no meeting in February. <br />Public programs: Jean Clark is in charge of Kitchigami Legacy Programs. She has <br />been in contact with Barb Mann of the Kitchigami Regional System who has included <br />our library in her planning for Legacy Programs. So far we have these programs planned: <br />Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. — Toymaker Kent Scheer; Thursday, Dec. 8, 6 p.m. — <br />Musicians Tim and Cindy Roggenkamp; Saturday, Jan. 14, 10 a.m. — Photographer Doug <br />Ohman "Journey Down the River -Part 1 "; Wed., Feb. 29, 6:30 p.m. - Author William <br />Kent Krueger; and Friday, April 20, 6:30 p.m. — Photographer Cal Rice. <br />"Conversations With..." are Pequot Library's own programs. Suggestion from <br />Jerry Akerson to present Carla Headlee, who has written a novel. No action was taken at <br />this time. <br />Old business: <br />Ron Nelson is building shelving. <br />Computers — Kaye Schroeder gave a report on her findings about the library's <br />computers. She reported that public computers number 5 and 6 and the ones used by <br />Donna and Nancy in the office were built by Roman Siltman and are good as they are. <br />She suggested that public computers number 1 -4 be replaced or rebuilt. Complaints by <br />patrons using those computers are common. Kaye also reported that we need to purchase <br />licenses for all our computers for the use of Windows 7 and WordXP. She will return to <br />our Dec. 20 meeting with an update. John Longnecker suggested that we start a fund for <br />
