Call Meeting to Order j <br /> i <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Jurchen at 8:01 a.m. <br /> 2. Approve EDC Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER LINDHOLM MOVED TO APPROVE THE JUNE 20,2017 <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES. <br /> COMMISSIONER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 3. Fiber Optic Project Proposals& Broadband Development Grant <br /> A. CTC—Kristi Westbrock explained CTC is a regional provider and has been <br /> developing a plan to bring fiber from Nisswa to Pequot Lakes and back to their <br /> hub in Merrifield. This would be a$600,000 project. CTC is interested in <br /> bringing fiber to the Business Park, but come to the table wanting to do the larger <br /> project. The larger project would need to have several players involved. Breezy <br /> Point Resort would like to expand what they offer their guests and the City of <br /> Breezy Point has interest in business expansions. <br /> When asked by Commissioner Lubke, Steve Gilbert stated access points would be <br /> placed along the line as well as major intersections. <br /> Commissioner Rieck asked with the $600,000 project, is CTC asking the City to <br /> get the Business Park established? Ms. Westbrock stated CTC is interested in a <br /> large build,not a small build. <br /> B. Spectrum—Ian Donnoe stated Spectrum already has fiber in the Business Park. <br /> Spectrum is willing to pay up to $25,000 in construction cost to the business <br /> location. <br />
