City Council Minutes <br /> July 6,2017 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL <br /> ZONING MAP AS OUTLINED IN THE ORDINANCE AMENDMENT. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br /> SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 17-11. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5-0. <br /> 6.3. Service Signs Along Patriot Avenue <br /> Mayor Adams requested the Council give the Planning Commission a <br /> directive to review City land use ordinances and come up with a plan for <br /> directional service signs along Patriot Avenue. Mayor Adams noted that <br /> some businesses who have requested specific service signs along <br /> Highway 371 may also want directional service signs. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO DIRECT THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> TO REVIEW CITY LAND USE ORDINANCES AND BRING FORTH A <br /> RECOMMENDATION FOR A DIRECTIONAL SERVICE SIGNAGE PLAN <br /> BY THE SEPTEMBER 5TH CITY COUNCIL MEETING AND FURTHER <br /> AUTHORIZED ANY EXTRA MEETINGS OF THE PLANNING <br /> COMMISSION TO ACCOMPLISH THIS TASK. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> LOUKOTA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Council Member Pederson added the idea of a billboard type sign on the <br /> City property by the spray irrigation area. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding what type of signs the City should <br /> consider and what City ordinances allow. <br /> The consensus of the Council agreed that Mayor Adams, Council Member <br /> Pederson, and Council Member Loukota will look into options for <br /> community signs and involve City Staff as needed. <br /> 7. Fire <br /> The May 2017 Fire Department Operations Report was received by <br /> Council. <br /> 7.1. Street Dance—August 5th <br />
