SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> TUESDAY, MAY 2, 2017 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Akerson, Loukota, <br /> Pederson, and Swanson <br /> Staff Present: Nancy Malecha, City Administrator/Clerk; Dawn Bittner, <br /> Zoning Specialist; Eric Kiang, Police Chief; and Robert Scott, <br /> City Attorney <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Adams called the Special Meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council <br /> to order at 6:22 p.m. <br /> 1.1. Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> There were no changes to the agenda. <br /> 3. Hearing to Consider Adopting a Public Nuisance Order <br /> Mayor Adams opened the hearing. <br /> City Attorney Robert Scott explained the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> consider declaring conditions existing on the John and Barbara Derksen <br /> property located at 31116 Ash Street, Pequot Lakes, MN to be a public <br /> nuisance. John Derksen, Property Owner, was present along with his <br /> legal counsel, Mark Severson. City Attorney Scott informed the Council <br /> that a tentative agreement has been negotiated which specifies the <br /> following corrective actions that Mr. Derksen would be required to <br /> undertake. <br /> Deadline of June 13, 2017 <br /> • Remove or relocate the large camper/recreational vehicle at least 10 <br /> feet from any lot line. <br /> • For each abandoned vehicle on the Property, either remove it from the <br /> Property, store it within a structure or otherwise provide screening so <br /> that such vehicle is not visible from adjacent properties or public right- <br /> of-way. <br />
