MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING COMMISSION/ <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> APRIL 20, 2017 <br /> PRESENT: Todd Engels, Bill Habein, Mark Hallan, Mark Mortenson, Nathan Norton, <br /> Brian Wallin and Wesley Wilson. ABSENT: None. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Justin Burslie, NJPA <br /> ZONING SPECIALIST: Dawn Bittner <br /> COUNCIL LIAISON: Nancy Adams <br /> Chair Engels called the meeting to order at 6:oo p.m. and opened the Public Hearings. <br /> Public Hearings: <br /> APPLICANT: City of Pequot Lakes <br /> Applicant proposes an Ordinance Amendment Creating a"Public"Zoning <br /> Classification <br /> Mr. Burslie explained the Staff Report. This amendment was initiated by the City and <br /> creates a new zoning classification,the Public zone. City property is located in several <br /> zoning classifications. Staff used the Downtown Mixed Use classification for the <br /> specifications. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: None. <br /> Planning Commission Member Hallan questioned the screening requirements. One <br /> hundred percent screening from residential properties and 50%from roads and non- <br /> residential parcels may be excessive. Mr. Burslie pointed out that the requirements <br /> would be for new development, not existing. He suggested reducing the requirements to <br /> 50% and io%, respectively. <br /> Planning Commission Member Habein asked if a timeframe could be added. Mr. <br /> Burslie stated this ordinance amendment is only for City-owned property.
