AGENDA ITEM #9.2
City of
Pc not
Lakes = -
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Tim Houle
Date: June 6, 2017
Subject: Maintenance Facility Schematic Design
Report: The Core Team consisting of Council Members Pederson
and Loukota, City Administrator Malecha, Public Works Supervisor
Loven, and Doug Archer and myself from WSN, met for the second
and last time on Thursday, May 25th in accordance with our scope of
work. We reviewed an updated schematic building layout and some
renderings. There was discussion on some adjustments to these.
Attached are the latest building layouts and renderings.
The building will be of timber post frame construction (this type of
construction can more easily be worked on in the future by local
contractors if needed versus a pre-engineered steel building). This
structure can be expanded on the non-office side. It will have in-floor
heat throughout—to provide a base temperature level (say 50 or so
degrees) during the winter. The office area needs code required air
exchange equipment, so it will also have a furnace and air conditioner.
The schematic Site Layout was pulled out of our scope by the City
Council to save some money. However, we did prepare a draft layout
and discussed this with the Core Team. Attached is a Conceptual Site
Layout Sketch.
