Rezone Request Dawn Bittner explained the Planning Commission is unanimously recommending the rezoning of 48 publically-owned parcels to the Public zoning classification based on 17 Findings of Fact. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS OUTLINED IN THE ORDINANCE AMENDMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-1. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 17-06. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 6.5. Waive Permit Fee COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO WAIVE THE $50 PERMIT EXTENSION FEE FOR LAKES AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10.2. Call Special Meeting for June 6th Nancy Malecha noted the City has served two notices of immediate corrective action to a property owners for violating the City Code and requested the Council hold a special meeting on June 6th to consider the public nuisance orders. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR JUNE 6, 2017 AT 5:30 P.M. TO CONSIDER ADOPTING ORDERS DECLARING PROPERTIES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. D. Potential Violations/Enforcement Actions: The City Staff is currently working on the following potential violations/enforcement actions. We will report on each of these each month until they are resolved to the satisfaction of the Planning Commission. ➢ Virgil Dahl —The Notice of Immediate Corrective Action Required letter sent. Public Nuisance Hearing June 6. (10/06 to present) ➢ John and Barbara Derksen— Exterior storage. The City and Mr. Derksen executed an Agreement that he will complete necessary tasks by June 13.
