City Council Minutes <br /> April 4, 2017 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> Loven explained the storm drainage issue within the entire quadrant would <br /> be difficult to break down for individual street segments. <br /> Mr. Houle noted a storm water study may be something for the Council to <br /> consider before determining improvements to individual street segments <br /> within the quadrant. <br /> The consensus of the Council agreed to authorize Widseth Smith Nolting <br /> to prepare a storm water study proposal. <br /> 10. Administration <br /> The following items were received by Council. <br /> • March 15, 2017 draft Pequot Lakes ICI Steering Committee <br /> minutes <br /> • March 21, 2017 HRA minutes <br /> 10.1.A.2018 Preliminary Budget Discussion — Project Priorities <br /> Nancy Malecha explained the Council requested project priorities be on <br /> this agenda for discussion. A spreadsheet listing current projects the <br /> Council is considering as well as five years of future projects from the <br /> City's Capital Improvement Plan were included for discussion and <br /> prioritization. Ms. Malecha noted it will be beneficial for the Council to <br /> take all this information into consideration as future budgets and funding <br /> mechanisms are forecasted. <br /> Council Member Akerson questioned if the City should consider <br /> contracting out for snow removal services. Council Member Pederson <br /> explained that contracting out for the loading of snow is a possibility. Mike <br /> Loven noted the difficulty in quantifying all the snow removal services the <br /> City currently provides. <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding prioritizing the new maintenance <br /> facility and salt shed, the Trailside Park Master Plan, street improvements <br /> around Trailside Park, and the City's capital improvement plan. <br /> The consensus of the Council agreed to prioritize projects as follows. <br /> • New Maintenance Facility and Salt Shed <br /> • Trailside Park Master Plan Project— Phase 1 which includes the <br /> state flag display, splash park, pond, and walking paths. <br /> • Improvements to the northerly portion of Government Drive. <br /> • Storm water study for street quadrant Improvements. <br />
