City Council Minutes <br />October 4, 2011 <br />Page 5 <br />7.3. ISO Rating Reports <br />Chief Nelson updated the Council on the City's recent ISO Fire Rating. <br />8. Police Department <br />Police report received by Council. <br />8.1. Consider Quotes for Civil Defense Siren <br />Chief Kiang presented two quotes for a civil defense siren, one quote from <br />Ready Watt Electric and one from Federal Signal Corporation. He <br />explained that there would be an additional cost of approximately $1,000 <br />to have Minnesota Power set the pole. <br />Council discussion was held on funding of the siren. The Clerk noted that <br />there was approximately $30,000 in the Capital Outlay Carryover fund for <br />three separate WAC /SAC hookups for HRA projects. She suggested using <br />a portion of those funds to assist in the purchase of the siren. <br />M <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ACCEPT THE QUOTE <br />FROM READY WATT ELECTRIC FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CIVIL <br />DEFENSE SIREN AT $16,384 PLUS THE COST TO SET THE POLE <br />WITH FUNDING TO COME FROM THE CIVIL DEFENSE CAPITAL <br />OUTLAY CARRYOVER FUND AND THE BALANCE TO BE FUNDED <br />FROM THE HRA CAPITAL OUTLAY CARRYOVER FUND. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />0. <br />Council Member Ryan raised questions about blowing the siren at noon <br />and 6 p.m. <br />9. Public Works Department <br />9.1. Consider Agreement for Water and Wastewater Operation Services <br />Mike Loven presented the Council with a revised agreement for three <br />years of water and wastewater operation services by PRASD beginning <br />November 1, 2011. Lee Bundy was present. <br />
