9.3. Skateboard Park <br /> Mayor Adams informed the Council that a subcommittee of the Park <br /> Commission has been meeting with students and parents who are <br /> interested in having a skateboard park in Pequot Lakes. Included in the <br /> research for the project was an informal poll at the Pequot Lakes Middle <br /> School which resulted in 210 students interested and excited about this park <br /> idea. <br /> Council Member Pederson questioned if locations for the skateboard park <br /> have been considered. <br /> Mayor Adams noted the location they are considering is the south parking <br /> lot at City Hall due to the close proximity to the Police Department. She <br /> explained the City of Crosby stated that the success of their skateboard park <br /> is a result of the location. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE PAYMENT TO 3RD LAIR <br /> SKATEPARK IN THE AMOUNT OF $250 FOR CONCEPTUAL SKATE <br /> PARK DESIGNS TO BE PAID FROM THE FUND BALANCE OF THE <br /> GENERAL FUND. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.2.C.Proposed Maintenance Facility Site <br /> Mayor Adams reviewed the Proposed Maintenance Facility Site map with <br /> the Council. This map notes the manhole location, Morehouse Drive <br /> extension, proposed maintenance facility and salt shed location, and the <br /> water and wastewater connection in relation to the City's former spray <br /> irrigation field. <br /> Council discussion ensued on the possibilities for the northerly portion of the <br /> City Hall property in relation to buildability, visual aesthetics, and Bergquist <br /> Drive connectivity. <br /> An excerpt from the February 21 Special Council Meeting are included: <br /> 3. Work Session to Review Street Improvements <br /> Mayor Adams noted that the goal of this meeting is to find out what the City <br /> would like to see in the street quadrant consisting of Old Highway 371, <br /> South Washington Avenue, Government Drive, East Woodman Street, and <br /> East Butler Street and provide information to Staff to determine bonding <br /> options. <br /> April 20, 2017 Staff Report Page 2 <br />
