If the market rate (step 5)
is outside of the band, then the Committee must do further
review to determine how to get the pay inside of the band.
2. Job Description Review —Job descriptions are
reviewed by department heads during the budget process,
when a job position is created, and when a position has
changed duties or titles. Amendments to job descriptions
are given to the Job Evaluation Committee for review. Job
descriptions with an amendment of 20% or more are
reviewed for possible job point changes.
3. Job Points — Job points are determined by reviewing
job class descriptions from the Minnesota Management and
- Budget Department. These state descriptions have job
points associated with them. The goal is to try to match the
position in Pequot Lakes as closely as possible to one of the
State job class descriptions.
The Council should note that a change in job points equates
to a change in the pay structure for the position.
The Job Evaluation Committee has completed its review of
job descriptions, job points, and outside equity. The
Committee is making the following recommendations:
Office Assistant —
• Revised job description
• Job points change from 155 to 169
M
