SPECIAL JOINT MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> CITY COUNCIL & PARK COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY, JANUARY 17, 2017 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Mayor Adams; Council Members Akerson, Loukota, <br /> Pederson, Swanson; and Park Commissioners Graham, <br /> Jurchen, Nagel, Pearson, Ronning <br /> Members Absent: Park Commissioners Bryan and Caouette <br /> Staff Present: Nancy Malecha, City Administrator/Clerk and Dawn Bittner, <br /> Zoning Specialist <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mayor Adams called the special joint meeting of the Pequot Lakes City <br /> Council and Park Commission to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br /> Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> The agenda was approved as presented. <br /> 3. Consider Trailside Park Concepts &Themes <br /> Mayor Adams requested feedback from Park Commissioners regarding <br /> Trailside Park Master Plan option A and B. <br /> Commissioner Pearson noted her concern on the proximity of the pond <br /> and the playground in option A which could be hazardous for children <br /> without proper safeguards in place. <br /> Commissioner Ronning stated that he heard feedback tonight regarding <br /> concerns on the amount of space utilized for the existing Highway 371 <br /> roadway on the southwest end of the master plan and the possibility of a <br /> one way street which would allow for more park space. Council Member <br /> Akerson noted that this portion of roadway would be downsized to the <br /> width of a City street. <br />
