Planning Commission Meeting Liaisons <br /> Dawn Bittner informed the Council of the 2017 Council Liaison Schedule <br /> for attendance at Planning Commission meetings. <br /> 6.3. Planning Department Year-End Report <br /> Dawn Bittner presented the Year End Report for the Planning and Zoning <br /> Department. She highlighted the following for 2016. <br /> • Several ordinance amendments were made to create more flexibility <br /> for property owners. <br /> • 87% of land use applications received were handled by City Staff. <br /> • There were 20 permits issued for new homes, with only 2 of those <br /> issued for Wilderness Resort Villas. <br /> • The number of septic permits issued increased which is an <br /> encouraging trend. <br /> • The number of outstanding violations and enforcement actions <br /> continues to decrease. <br /> Mayor Adams stated the number of land use applications handled by City <br /> Staff is very impressive. <br /> 7. Fire <br /> The November 2016 Fire Department Operations Report was received by <br /> Council. <br /> 7.1. Consider Bids for Air Packs & Debt Financing <br /> Nancy Malecha requested Council authorization to proceed with the <br /> purchase of air packs for the Fire Department which will include 20 <br /> harnesses, 40 cylinders, and 30 face pieces. The air packs would be <br /> purchased from Emergency Response Solutions through the HGACBuy <br /> competitive bid process. Ms. Malecha stated that she contacted several <br /> local financial institutions on financing options for this purchase and <br /> received the best quote from First National Bank for a five year equipment <br /> certificate with an interest rate of 2.99%. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO AWARD THE BID FOR <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT AIR PACKS TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br /> SOLUTIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $134,164.46 THROUGH THE <br /> HGACBUY COMPETITIVE BID PROCESS WITH FINANCING <br />
