MONTHLY STAFF REPORT <br />City Clerk's Office <br />June, 2011 <br />Meetings <br />City Council Meeting <br />June 7, 2011, Regular Meeting <br />• Made a Library Building loan payment of $2,000 to Adams <br />• Renewed liquor licenses <br />• Renewed tobacco licenses <br />• Accepted resignation of Erika O'Brien as HRA Director and acknowledged hiring <br />Barb Carlson as ne HRA Director <br />• Heard a presentation from Springsted regarding financing options <br />• Tabled adoption of the comprehensive plan <br />• Moved to not refund an application fee for an ordinance amendment <br />• Update from Engineer Tim Houle on need for a Facility Use Plan <br />• Year -End 2010 report presented by Nancy Malecha <br />• Presentation on new phone system <br />• Considered audit quotes and asked staff to do more research <br />• Approved amendments to the personnel policy on exempt position <br />\.- • Appointed Nancy Malecha to the Heartland Cable Commission to replace Clerk <br />Sandy Peine <br />• Heard a presentation from the Clerk to upgrade the City's web site <br />• Called a special meeting to discuss hiring of Police Chief <br />June 21, 2011 <br />• Hired Eric Klang <br />• Ended Kate Petersen's Leave of Absence from the Union and Reassigned her as <br />Police Officer <br />• Accepted resignation of Tina Nolden <br />• Entered into a contract with PRASD for water /wastewater services <br />• Developed a Public Works Department <br />Park Commission —June 9, 2011 <br />• Park Commission minutes are attached. The park commissioners had their annual <br />tour of the City parks. During the tour they make recommendations for <br />improvements to the park. <br />Economic Development Commission — June 21, 2011 <br />• Minutes are attached. The EDC is still working on the possibility of splitting the <br />lots in the downtown area and in the industrial/business park in order to induce <br />growth, increase the City's tax base and to get the best return out of the <br />infrastructure. They are focusing more on the industrial park at this time. Tim <br />Houle attended this meeting and presented information on the existing sewer <br />capacity and explained why a sewer facility use plan has not been completed. The <br />
