City
Pett \ AGENDA ITEM #9.6
Lakes-----_-_-_--_-__
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Tim Houle
Date: January 3, 2017
Subiect: Trailside Park Traffic Study
Report: Through our involvement in attending the Trailside
Park concept meetings, the Thriving Communities Initiative
process, and as your City Engineer, we know the Trailside
Park Project is a potential future improvement for the City.
One component of this Park concept is how traffic may be
impacted (both pedestrian and vehicles). People coming into
town to enjoy the park will need to get around and park;
businesses will want good traffic circulation, access, and
parking; and people will want to be able to travel into, around,
and out of town as efficiently as possible.
This winter is the last time the existing Highway, County
roads, and City streets will see normal traffic as next winter,
the new Highway and County Road 11 interchange will be
fully operational with new traffic patterns emerging. The
combination of the Park concept and the changes due to the
new Highway lead us to recommend to the Council the
authorization to obtain traffic counts in early 2017.
