H. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations including OSHA <br />SHA <br />regulations in relation to water wastewater operations <br />I. Assist in operations of the Public Works Department as needed <br />EJ. Follow the City of Pequot Lakes adopted safety programs and policies <br />2. Perform public relations and communications activities. <br />A. Receive and respond to inquiries and complaints from the public <br />B. Deal with the public in a professional manner <br />C. Maintain relationships with vendors and contractors <br />D Explain city and department operations standards laws and regulations <br />D er-k for- ether- a°pa ft- ents as needed Perform other duties and assume <br />responsibilities as apparent or assigned <br />Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: <br />• Knowledge and/er ability to learn the operation of a Class D sanitary sewer <br />system and Class C Municipal water system <br />• Ability to operate sewer jetting machine, various testing equipment and other <br />related equipment or machinery <br />• Ability to be "on call" during weekends and evenings when necessary <br />`' • Ability to communicate effectively with other city employees, city officials, and <br />the general public <br />• Ability to determine solutions to a variety of operation and maintenance problems <br />• Knowledge of federal and state laws, municipal ordinances, and regulatory <br />agency requirements for water and wastewatersystems <br />Minimum Oualifications: <br />• High school education or equivalent <br />• Possess er be able te ebtaitfl. a valid Minnesota Commercial Class B drivers <br />license with air -brake and tanker endorsements, within 10 days ofe ffi .t,...,.,., °nt <br />• Minimum of two years experience in water /wastewater field; or equivalent <br />combination of education and experience <br />• Class "D" Wastewater License <br />• Class "C" Water License <br />Preferred Oualifications: <br />• Previous experience in the operation of a Class D Wastewater System and Class C <br />Municipal water facility <br />SASandy Documents\Minutes\dob Evaluation Committee\2011 \062811 Meeting \Water Wastewater Operator Job Description.doc <br />Page 2 <br />
