Water/Wastewater Report June 2011 Water Dept. I. Facility Performance: Average daily gallons pumped: 116,000 gallons Maximum daily gallons pumped: 147,000 gallons Minimum daily gallons pumped: 90,000 gallons Total monthly gallons pumped: 2,662,000 gallons (As of the 24tH) Average daily chlorine concentration: 0.3 mg/l Required chlorine concentration: 0.2 to 0.5 mg/l *Average daily fluoride concentration: 0.7 mg/l* *Required fluoride concentration: 0.9 mg/l to 1.5 mg/l* *The MDH is currently reviewing the pros and cons of fluoride addition and are looking at lowering the required amount to a range of 0.6 mg /l to 1.0 mg/l* Treatment Chemicals Used for the Month: 24.0 lbs Chlorine 5.1 gals Fluoride 6.81bs Potassium Permanganate II. Operations and Maintenance: • The MN Department of Health Monthly Fluoridation Report was completed and submitted. • June 7ffi, home at 30662 Olson St. was demolished. I inspected the water service abandonment and verified the septic tank was pumped prior to crush and fill. Also, on the 7ffi, turned the water on at 4303 West Lake Street. June 8t', attended monthly staff meeting. • June 9t', attended Focus Group meeting for Government Drive plans /ideas. Turned in my letter of resignation. My last day will be June 24th. I have accepted a wastewater operator position with the City of Brainerd. • June 13th, delivered lead & copper sample bottles to ten residents. • June 15th, attended monthly budget meeting. • June 17th, met with Sandy and Nancy Adams to go over what needs to be done on my last day of employment. • At the last two Economic Development Committee Meetings, the Committee has discussed concerns of our WAC /SAC fees and a lack of a policy for these charges. • I have been working with Lee Bundy (PRASD) during my last week, and training him in as best I can with the short amount of time that I have left.
