August 17, 2004 <br /> L The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Pequot Lakes met for their regular <br /> meeting on August 17, 2004. Commissioners Present: Peterson, Teie, Jurchen, <br /> Youngberg,Nagel. Also present: Thurlow and Walsh and tenant B. Pearson. <br /> Chair Peterson called the meeting to order. Minutes were reviewed and approved. <br /> M/Teie, S/Youngberg. M/carried. <br /> Bills were reviewed for payment. <br /> M/Youngberg, S/Jurchen to approve payment of the Sibley Terrace bills. M/carried. <br /> M/Teie, S/Nagel to approve payment of the Parkview bills. M/carried. <br /> M/Youngberg, S/Teie to approve payment of the Alpine bills. M/carried. <br /> Agenda: Sibley Terrace <br /> 1) West Grove Townhomes update was given. The open house was a huge success <br /> with over 78 people attending. Leasing will be done this week. The landscaping <br /> is being done this week and the project is on target to be completed September 1. <br /> The issue of the handicapped unit accessibility was discussed. The architect will <br /> get a cost for a change order for the installation of a shower. <br /> 2) The Levy budget for 2005 was given to the City. The Board reviewed it. <br /> M/Peterson, S/Youngberg to approve the Levy budget. M/carried. <br /> 3) An update of the new homes on Gravdahl drive was provided. One is still to be <br /> `.. sold. They are nearing completion. <br /> 4) The ICWC crew will begin working on the Lomprey house on September. B. <br /> Higgs from Region 5 has given the tenants 30 days to move. The house will be <br /> torn down. <br /> 5) An additional unit will be vacant by September. No one from the waiting list is <br /> ready to move. Advertising is being done. <br /> 6) Carpet has been ordered for the common areas of Sibley Terrace. It will be a big <br /> project and an inconvenience to residents,but the company doing the work will <br /> try to accommodate us as best as possible. <br /> Agenda: Parkview <br /> 1) The HOME construction is moving along. Windows have been installed and the <br /> siding is almost complete on Parkview II. The ventilation system has been <br /> completed. There is a possibility that the HRA could apply for an additional; <br /> $100,000 loan through Greater Housing Partnership for additional work that was <br /> deleted from the original scope of work. It will depend on Rural Development's <br /> approval to repay the loan. The Board reviewed the additional work items it <br /> would include. Commissioner Jurchen discussed a phone call from a tenant at <br /> Parkview I who was upset at the construction and how it was being done. The <br /> contractor is doing a good job and making every attempt to not inconvenience <br /> tenants. However, there are some things that are beyond their control, such as <br />
