Support From County Departments - <br /> Support that can be expected from Crow Wing County is as follows: <br /> County Sheriff - Charles Warnberg, additional law enforcement personnel. <br /> County Engineer - Duane Blanck, debris clearance, damage assessment. <br /> County Social Services - Congregate care coordination. <br /> Support From Private Agencies/Volunteer Groups - <br /> (Red Cross, Salvation Army, Schools, etc.) - Pequot Lakes Independent <br /> School District #186. <br /> Support From the National Guard - <br /> `' General Overview: When a natural disaster or other major emergency is <br /> beyond the capability of local government, support from National Guard <br /> units may be available. Only the governor has the authority to activate <br /> the Guard. <br /> Request Procedure: In the case of the county and all cities that are not <br /> of the first class, the sheriff must submit the request for assistance to <br /> the governor's office. In the case of cities of the first class, the <br /> mayor, after consulting the county sheriff, will submit the request to the <br /> governor. <br /> Support From State And Federal Agencies - <br /> Information and assistance in securing state or federal support may be <br /> obtained by contacting the Crow Wing County Emergency Management <br /> Director. <br /> 13 .
