Bunyan Expressway, the <br /> Backus City Council has made the following c:onc:1 us.i on e„ <br /> WHEREAS, the Paul. Bunyan Expressway concept will provide safer <br /> and improved road conditions on U. S. 371 , <br /> WHEREAS, the name "Paul Bunyan Expressway" shoul.d be officially <br /> ' adopted as the name of highway 371 from Little Falls to <br /> Bemidji , <br /> WHEREAS, the Paul Bunyan Expressway concept would provide <br /> tourist , industrial , and retail opportunities leading to <br /> stabilization and security in our community as well as the <br /> whole 371 Corridor , <br /> WHEREAS, travel is a major factor in our "Lakes and Pines" <br /> reai on and T. H. 371 is a major artery route for goods and <br /> servi ces into and from the Metro area, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Backus City Council , that <br /> the City of Backus wishes to go on record as supporting the <br /> concept of this proposed Paul Bunyan Expressway. <br /> WHEREUPON, sai.d resolution was duly seconded by Council Member- <br /> Sherman , and upon roll call. vote: <br /> • <br /> Borman, Braker , Sherman & Schoeben in favor.
