Council member G. Welu introduced the following and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the Pequot Lakes, Minnesota: that the <br /> following recommendations from the transition committee be adopted and approved: <br /> CITY HALL <br /> A renovation of the current Pequot Lakes City Hall should take place ASAP to allow the police <br /> department to expand into the present council chambers. The"front desk" and clerical offices <br /> will be renovated to allow for more space for the City Clerk's office and staff. The remaining <br /> area presently used as council chambers will be converted into a conference and break room. <br /> The offices of City Clerk, police and fire department will continue to be housed in City Hall. <br /> A Centrex Phone System has been installed which allows all calls to come into the main <br /> switchboard at the City Hall (568-5222) for routing to various departments, cell phones or <br /> messaging. It will be the responsibility of each department head to notify the main switchboard <br /> as to how their department staff can be reached in case of emergencies during business hours or <br /> when on call. <br /> SIBLEY CENTER <br /> Sibley Township Hall will be renamed Sibley Center. <br /> Planning and zoning will operate from Sibley Center Monday thru Friday 10:00 AM-4:00 PM <br /> Roads and maintenance (which include Parks and Cemetery) will also operate from Sibley <br /> Center. <br /> The safety issue, contained in the original recommendation has been addressed and a panic alarm <br /> system has been installed. <br /> When renovation of the current City Hall is complete, it is recommended that the City Council <br /> meetings will move to Sibley Center. <br /> When renovation of the current City Hall is complete, it is also recommended that Sibley Center <br /> will become the polling place for elections as well as a community place for educational and <br /> informational meetings. <br /> Sibley Center will be used for community meetings for residents of Pequot Lakes. It is <br /> recommended that all scheduling of meetings and the use of equipment will be handled from the <br /> City Clerk's office. Rental fees will be set by the City Council. <br /> PERSONNEL ISSUES: <br /> The current Pequot Lakes Personnel Ordinance NO. 169 will be reviewed by the Transition <br /> Committee and recommendations to update where necessary will be submitted to the city council <br /> prior to the completion of the term of the current transition committee. <br /> 1 <br />
