Box 401 <br /> Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br /> Dear Lynn: <br /> This letter is in response to your letter to the Mayor regarding the 20 page Tour Brochure <br /> for the byway route. You have requested our city to describe up to four sites or areas to <br /> be included on the brochure. <br /> The Park Board met for its regular meeting in March. The Park Board is requesting that <br /> the following areas be included in the brochure: <br /> • Bobber Park located on Highway 371 —underneath the Bobber Water Tower <br /> (This park is in the process of being built). (When completed) The park will offer <br /> a photo opportunity while seated in a giant-sized Paul Bunyan chair underneath <br /> Paul's bobber(water tower). The Park will also include benches, a picturesque <br /> boat and flower gardens. <br /> • Trailside Park—located on Highway 371 in downtown Pequot Lakes <br /> This park offers a paved walking path with benches located along the path, a <br /> veteran's memorial site, a gazebo and picnic shelter and a beautiful garden <br /> dedicated to Dru Sjodin. <br /> • 40-Acre Fire Tower Site located on County Road 11 built in 1934 <br /> This fire tower is on the National Historic Lookout Register. The site also offers a <br /> parking area and picnic site. <br /> • Pequot Lakes Historical Museum—located in the Cole Memorial Building <br /> (Senior Citizen Building) <br /> This building was constructed in 1937 and is listed on the National Registrar of <br /> Historic Places. The lower level of the building has a museum depicting World <br />
