Park Board Minutes <br /> February 14th, 2008 <br /> Page 3 <br /> Discussion was held regarding how many gardens there are and who <br /> will be maintaining them. The Board asked if the City had a map of all <br /> the gardens so they could come up with a schedule of who will <br /> maintain each garden. Del will speak to Bernice at Lakes State Bank <br /> to see if they want to continue maintaining their garden. Cathy will <br /> contact the Baptist Church about maintaining the garden in the DNR <br /> parking lot. Claire Nagel has been doing a great job maintaining her <br /> garden. <br /> 9. Other Business <br /> Mayor Malecha informed the Board that the Ox Trot is asking if they <br /> would be interested in purchasing an ox and have the Governor unveil <br /> it during the Governor's opener. The cost of the ox is $2,800 to <br /> sponsor it plus another $1 ,500 to keep it. The Clerk noted that this <br /> was not a budgeted item, but the Park Board could recommend using <br /> money from the Park Board Fund Balance. Sandy will check with the <br /> City Attorney to see if Park Dedication funds could be used. The <br /> Board would like to get an ox for the purpose of bringing more people <br /> to Pequot Lakes to shop at our businesses. <br /> MOTION MADE BY COMMISSIONER TWEED TO PRESENT TO <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL FOR THE CITY TO PAY <br /> HALF OF THE COST OF AN OX. SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br /> JURCHEN.
