Park Board Minutes July 13, 2006 Page 2 the park needs more attention and maybe allowing a tree for additional memorials instead of a garden. Chari Anderson stated there should be written guidelines that cover what is allowed, who will be responsible for maintenance, watering and up keep. Commissioner Samuelson suggested setting a dollar amount in the guidelines. All agreed to notify Jackie Cogan that the Park Board is interested in discussing this issue further with her at the next Park Board meeting. 5. REVIEW PROPOSED PARK BUDGET FOR 2007 Sandy Peine reviewed the proposed Park Board budget that was drafted by Mike Loven, Chari Anderson and herself. She noted that the Park dedication money would be a separate fund in the future. Suggestion was made to add to 2007 budget the cost of putting up and taking down Christmas lights. Discussion was held as to whether the Park Board or the City should be responsible for paying for this. Also discussed the cost of electrical outlets. Sandy suggested increasing the Park Board budget by $1 ,500 and then the Board assumes this cost. The Park Board increased the proposed budget from $12,000 to $15,000. Commissioner Tweed asked if a sprinkler could be installed in the park across from the old City Hall building. Mike Loven stated we need to find out what the Government Street project will consist of first. Chari Anderson will find out what the cost would be for sprinklers for the South end of the park. 6. OTHER BUSINESS Commissioner Tweed suggested starting a scrapbook of articles regarding the Park Board projects. 7. ADJOURNMENT COMMISSIONER TWEED MOVED TO ADJOURN.
