MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD <br /> THURSDAY, JULY 13, 2006 <br /> TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> Members Present: Chair Anderson, Board Members Tweed, Samuelson and <br /> Jurchen <br /> Members Absent: Board Member Koslofsky <br /> Staff Present: Mayor Malecha; Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Street <br /> Maintenance Superintendent; and Jeanyne Alderson, Office <br /> Assistance <br /> 1 . CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br /> Chair Anderson called the meeting together at 4:00 p.m. <br /> 2. PARK BOARD MINUTES <br /> COMMISSIONER SAMUELSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/08/2006 <br /> PARK BOARD MINUTES. COMMISSIONER JURCHEN SECONDED <br /> THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 3, DISCUSS PARK LAND USE OF PROPERTY BY BOBBER <br /> It has been decided to demolish the fish house building. Mike Loven <br /> stated it will cost $1 ,000 to demolish. Sandy Peine stated that the council <br /> voted to use park dedication money for any demolition fees. <br /> Tim Liegeld showed a sketch of his idea of what to put in the new park <br /> area which included a hugh log chair, smaller benches and tree stumps, <br /> all conforming to the Paul Bunyan theme. <br /> Discussion was held to include steps & handrails on the chair for safety. <br /> Also, discussed parking around the park area and using colored <br /> cobblestone in areas. <br /> MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER TWEED TO PROCEED <br /> WITH TIM LIEGELDS IDEA. Commissioner Samuelson seconded the <br /> motion. Motion carried 4-0 <br /> 4. MEMORIAL GARDEN REQUEST BY STARK — Jackie Cogan <br /> Chair Anderson mentioned that Jackie Cogan had contacted another Park <br /> Board member regarding a memorial in the park for the Stark family <br /> members who where lost in a recent house fire. <br /> Discussion was held as to what the guidelines should be for adding <br /> additional memorials. Commissioner Tweed mentioned the South end of <br />
