The Mayor also noted that she <br /> has contacted the Saratoma Club to ask for a donation to help pay for the <br /> benches. Discussion was held regarding who owns the picnic tables by <br /> the Chamber of Commerce Building. It was suggested that three picnic <br /> tables be purchased this year and that the City consider buying three <br /> more next year. <br /> It was suggested that a railing be installed on the northeast end of the <br /> picnic shelter in the area where UBC parks cars. Commissioner Tweed <br /> noted that shrubs will be planted around the picnic shelter. <br /> Discussion was held regarding replacing the steps and railing at Sibley <br /> Park. Mayor Malecha indicated that STS will assist with the work. <br /> Discussion was held regarding funding for these projects. The Clerk <br /> indicated that there is money in the park fund, but the Council must <br /> approve the expenditures. <br /> COMMISSIONER KOSLOFSKY MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE <br /> COUNCIL RELEASE $21,600 FROM THE PARK FUND FOR THE <br /> FOLLOWING PARK BOARD EXPENSES: <br /> • Watering System at Trailside Park $9,300 <br /> • Black Dirt for Trailside Park $5,000 <br /> • Sibley Lake Steps and Railing $5,000 <br /> • Grass Seed for Trailside park $ 500 <br /> • Painting of Picnic Shelter at Trailside Park $ 300 <br /> • Fence Construction at Trailside park $ 500 <br /> • Picnic Tables and Benches at both Parks $1,000 <br /> COMMISSIONER SAMUELSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> Chair Anderson noted that many of these expenses are estimates and <br /> could be higher. The Clerk indicated that if the expenses come in higher, <br /> then the Park Board would go to the Council and request additional funds. <br /> The Commission discussed Sibley Lake Park. It was noted that this park <br /> gets a lot of use from Pequot Lakes residents. It was also noted that there <br /> is a safety issue regarding the steps and railing. Discussion was held <br /> about additional lighting at the park. It was suggested that MPL be <br /> contacted to see if they would put lights on four of the power poles by the <br /> park. The Commission indicated that it is just as important to make <br />
