Park Board Minutes January 12, 2006 Page 2 • Picnic Tables for the new shelter at Trailside Park • Benches for Trailside Park • Railings at Sibley Park • Steps at Sibley Park • Shrubs around the Picnic Shelter Kurt Eckardt suggested calling Chemlawn for a quote to fertilize when the Trailside Park is seeded. Lighting at Sibley Park was discussed. It was noted that there could be a couple more lights at the park. It was decided that Brian and Del would get bids for the sprinkler system, black dirt and for fertilizing. Mayor Malecha would contact the DNR to order picnic tables and benches. The Board discussed the Fire Tower Land. The Mayor indicated that she is working with our legislators and the DNR in an attempt to have the land given to the City. She noted she is also working with surrounding property owners who are also interested in preserving land that abuts the fire tower land. Kurt Eckardt requested the Park Board to purchase to heavy duty garbage cans for Sibley Lake Park and to fund the light bulbs for the Trailside Park. Chair Anderson suggested using a higher wattage light bulb for the park lights. Brian noted that we should also look into bulbs that would be more energy efficient. Kurt indicated he would check into both issues. COMMISSIONER TWEED MOVED TO PURCHASE TWO GARBAGE CANS FOR TRAILSIDE PARK AND TO PURCHASE THE LIGHT BULBS FOR THE PARK LIGHTS AT TRAILSIDE PARK. COMMISSIONER JURCHEN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. The Board discussed the role of the Park Board in possible summer events in the Park. It was decided that this issue could be discussed next year, after the grass seed has had a chance to get established. Mayor Malecha indicated she would check with the DNR to see if they knew what the City's cost would be to black top the boat landing. The Park Board felt that if the cost was too high, that this may not be a priority for 2006. 4. Park Dedication
